In Nine Songs, in which the verse was composed in a musical dialogue in an antiphonal style for solo performance; while a line was sung by male and other sung by female; the musical dialogue in antiphonal style was sung in duet by wizard and immortal, or two immortals, or main wizard and group of wizards; different people have different sayings with no objective standard.

Although song fair in Guangxi and "Hua er" Hui in Northwest China share the similar contentantiphonal songs, they have different cultural connation.

Through fully research towards historical records, this article concludes that the development of science and technology, the emergence of new poetry, and the elimination of imperial examination system were the direct reason to the breakdown of the repartee poetry.
