的孤" class=image>[雌生殖雌体]）。是广温性世界种，中国各地均有分布。一般生活于水质较清的水洼、池塘或湖滨。体侧扁，呈宽卵圆形。壳瓣大而透明，覆盖整个躯体和胸肢。壳瓣背、腹两缘具有较长的壳刺。壳瓣内层上皮是气体交换的地方。具有5对扁平叶状的胸肢,亦有呼吸功能。后腹部较长,背缘微凸,有10～14个肛刺，尾爪基部具栉（呈梳状微刺），其形态是鉴定属的主要依据之一(图2[的]
的" class=image>[后腹部和尾爪])。雌雄的差别显著。一般雄性较小,无额角，第1躯肢有1小钩和1长鞭,在交配时用以钩住雌体。美女
的血液中含有血红素，因而体呈红黄色。血红素的含量与水中的含氧量有密切关系，水中含氧量愈低，血红素含量愈高。因此，体的红色程度反映了池沼水中的含氧量，这在淡水养殖上有着实践意义。由于环境因素瞬息多变，美女
的生殖周期常呈现双周期或多周期,全年每个月内几乎都进行有性生殖,出现雌体和雄体。在严寒的冬季种群消失，留下休眠卵越冬，到次年春暖时期环境转好（水温升高、食料丰富）孵出幼，又重复进行孤雌生殖。美女
分布广,数量大,是淡水鱼类（尤其是幼鱼）的天然食饵。淡水枝角类（特别是属）已能进行大规模培养，这对淡水养殖业的发展十分重要。郑重
