Within a special historical period,praying for rain existed in the Hui Muslims in Yunnan province as a special cultural phenomenon,In this paper,the author tried to explore the evidence,excavate and elaborate historical culture of the Hui ethnic group in Yunnan province.

In time of drought,folks in north China practice the rite of killing the Goddess of Drought in their rituals praying for rain.

A further study from the perspective of the cultural phenomenon of paddy farming structures shows that this snake worship practice stems from the rituals of praying for rain and harvest.
