①中国明代宫廷内藏书楼,亦为皇帝讲读的地方。明太祖定都南京后，在奉天门东建文渊阁。明成祖迁都北京后,又在宫中内阁之东建文渊阁。永乐十九年( 1421)选取南京文渊阁书运送北京，初藏于左顺门北廊,宣宗、宣德时藏书约有2 万余部，近百万卷，英宗正统间移贮文渊阁，大学士杨士奇等编有《文渊阁书目》。②清代宫廷内贮藏《 四库全书 》的藏书楼。清乾隆三十九年(1774)，清政府派官员考察浙江宁波范氏天一阁，仿该阁规制在北京宫廷内文华殿后建文渊阁，乾隆四十一年(1776)建成。皇帝每年经筵讲学后，在这里赐茶给经筵讲官。乾隆四十七年(1782)《四库全书》第一份写成后贮藏于此，被称为"文渊阁《四库全书》"。管理该阁的官员，除兼衔大学士外，还有领阁事、提举、直阁事、校理、检阅等。阁外观两层，其下层又分为两层。开间取"天一生水，地六成之"之义,每层各6楹。该阁所藏《四库全书》凡 103架。 此外还藏有《古今图书集成》12架(见四库七阁)。(见彩图)
