舆论监督人民群众的议论监督。是群众管理国家、管理整个社会的一种重要形式舆论监督的主要方式是:通过新闻工具.对政府的工作及其工作人员以及对社会各界所进行的监督它包括批评报道，反映人民群众的利益和愿望、意志和情绪、意见和建议，提请政府重视改进发挥新闻舆论监督作用应当把握的原则是:①新闻工作者必须坚定地站在人民利益的立场上.反映广大人民群众的呼声、愿望和要求，这是舆论监督的根本前提和条件。②新闻单位通过内部参考、简报向上反映问题，必须力求准确，不得掺假.不得提供错误信息。③充分发挥新闻的能动作用，选择人民群众普遍关心而又有条件解决的问题作公开报道④政府要支持和善于利用舆论监督来改进和推动工作，新闻工作者也应该接受人民群众的监督对于改进政有的工伦.纠正不正之风.具有十分重要的作用。
