本文通过追溯陆机关于出处去就观念的家族渊源 ,发现孙吴数十年间 ,经明行修的江东学风还是或多或少地受到了新兴思潮的影响 ,陆氏家族中陆瑁、陆逊等人在孙吴士风的变革中得风气之先 ,陆氏家风遂产生了陆喜尚道德名望和陆抗重立功立事的分化 ,陆机秉承了乃父之风而重视功名进取 ,因此他入洛以后 ,很快接受了乘时借势的中原士风。

顾天瑞，苏州城西大村人也。中年，长斋，为念佛会。妻陆氏，亦长斋，日诵佛名甚虔。年六十三，得微疾，预知将终，沐浴易衣，就寝。其姒俞氏，别室居，忽闻陆氏遥语云，吾先去，姆早晚好来也。俞氏亟遣子视之，逝矣。俞氏故长斋，修净业，居半载，无疾而逝。天瑞后数年，别诸亲故，沐浴，唱佛名，亦无疾而逝。事在乾隆三十五年。（二林居后集）
