蚕花庙会
德清县新市镇的蚕花庙会源自春秋战国时期，相传越国范蠡送美女西施去姑苏，途经新市，给养蚕的姑娘嫂子送过鲜花，祝愿她们风调雨顺，蚕茧丰收。此后，方圆百里的当地蚕农为纪念西施，每到清明时节，都要举办盛大的蚕花庙会。蚕花庙会在新市民间也叫“轧蚕花”，与含山蚕花节的“轧蚕花”相仿。养蚕缫丝自古以来就是当地蚕农赖以生存的主要经济来源。为祈求蚕茧收成好，蚕农总要在养蚕之时祭拜“蚕神”和“蚕花娘娘”的习俗。久而久之，每年的清明节前后形成到觉海寺祭祀的蚕花庙会。
庙会期间，由德清县各乡镇评选的“蚕花娘娘”在新市镇上大巡游，沿途向人们抛洒蚕花。届时新市镇上人山人海，万人空巷，争相目睹“蚕花娘娘”的风采。同时带有地方特色的铜管队、腰鼓队、武术队、唢呐队、舞龙队等纷纷闪亮登场，到千年古刹觉海寺举办祭祀活动，以求风调雨顺，得到蚕花廿四分。晚上还有蚕花庙会灯会，当夜幕降临时，各类造型别致的景灯、花灯组成蚕文化灯展交相辉映，栩栩如生，反映出桑蚕文化的丰厚底蕴。
德清新市蚕花庙会，在根据民间习俗的基础上，为推陈出新，弘扬蚕乡文化，德清县旅游局和新市镇人民政府于1999年联合举办首届蚕花庙会。此后每年一届。至今已举办八届蚕花庙会，吸引了海内外数十万宾客和群众前来观看。
