历山国家级自然保护区
位于山西省翼城、垣曲、阳城、沁水四县交界处，面积24800公顷，1983年经山西省人民政府批准建立，1988年晋升为国家级，主要保护对象为暖温带森林植被和珍稀动物。
本区最高峰舜王坪海拔2380米，相对高差1800多米。区内生物资源丰富，植物成分以暖温带为主，但也残存一些亚热带的植物种类。高等植物有千余种，其中国家重点保护植物有连香树、领春木等。动物种类和区系处于南北方的过渡地带，陆栖脊椎动物有200多种，其中豹、原麝、猕猴、大鲵、黑鹳、金鸡、勺鸡等为国家重点保护野生动物。
