2001年诺贝尔经济学奖得主约瑟夫%26#183;斯蒂格利茨（Joseph E Stiglitz）曾经发表过一篇文章，题为《经济学的又一个世纪》。他在这篇文章中指出，20世纪的经济学患有%26#8220;精神分类症%26#8221;，即微观经济学和宏观经济学脱节，这种脱节既表现在研究方法上难以沟通，又反映在两者在意识形态上的分歧和对立。21世纪将是经济学分久必合的时代。一方面，宏观经济学正在寻找微观基础；另一方面，微观经济学也正在试图从微观个体的行为推演出总量上的含义。这背后的意识形态的风气转变也值得我们注意。斯蒂格利茨教授曾经讲到，以下两种主张都无法正确估计市场经济的长期活力：一种是凯恩斯式的资本主义正在没落的悲观思想；另一种是里根经济学的社会达尔文主义，表达了对资本主义的盲目乐观。我们已经接近一种处于两者之间的哲学，它将为我们的时代指引方向。 从复杂系统的整体性层级原理分析，微观经济学与宏观经济学分别面向复杂经济系统的微观层级和宏观层级的经济学现象，它们在研究方法和研究思路上存在必然的差别，也就是范式的差别。这种差别是由其研究对象所处系统的层级决定的，其研究方法也是与不同尺度经济学问题相对应的，总体上都是面向解释复杂经济系统不同层级运行规律的必然选择。所以，两者之间无论从方法，还是思路上都不存在必然的冲突，也没有统一的必要。问题出在，微观经济学仅靠微观层面的研究就推断宏观层面运行的规律，就如同拿%26#8220;一块砖%26#8221;的性质来推演%26#8220;整座建筑%26#8221;的性质一样荒谬。而宏观经济学仅靠宏观层面的研究，缺乏对宏观现象之微观机制的认识和理解，就不能真正把握宏观经济现象的发展趋势。就如控制SARS一样，如果我们仅只是从宏观上了解它传播的速度、范围、趋势和死亡率等，而不能从微观上掌握SARS传播的途径、规律，并针对性地采取隔离、治疗的手段，也就无法做到有效地控制SARS。实际控制SARS是在微观上强化隔离、治疗，宏观上限制人员流动和疾病扩散等为手段，通过系统的操作完成的。 微观经济学与宏观经济学之间的差别没有被抹平的必要，两者%26#8220;合久必分%26#8220;实际上应该是指，它们如何在一个整合的复杂经济系统研究中寻找自己的位置，最终形成系统经济学，而不是微观经济学与宏观经济学分立。与斯蒂格利茨教授不同，我认为，在世界范围内，系统经济学都是经济学发展的必然方向。 我国经济学家咎廷全（2004）出版的《系统经济学探索》一书，给出了系统经济学的初步理论框架。我并不真正懂得系统经济学，在该领域也没有研究。所以，也就不好对此书给出准确的评价。不过，我本人还是十分乐意把这本书推荐给经济学界的朋友。目前为止，系统经济学应该是经济学中最富前景的研究领域，诺贝尔奖我不敢说一定行。
