苏北盆地发育3种具有不同成藏主控因素的浅层油气藏,分别是阜二段中下部低熟高效烃源岩型、断裂垂向通道型及大型砂体侧向运移型浅层油气藏。

抗日战争时期,新四军第 1、第 3师在江苏省盐城、阜宁和东台、泰县(今泰州)地区,粉碎日伪军"扫荡"的作战。1941年夏,日军独立混成第12旅团和伪军共1.7万余人,疯狂"扫荡"苏北、苏中抗日根据地,企图围歼中共中央华中局和新四军领导机关。7月20日,日伪军从东台、兴化、射阳、陈家洋等地,分多路向盐城、阜宁地区合击。第3师主力予敌杀伤后,转至日伪军侧后,寻机出击。22日,日伪军进占盐城及周围集镇,四处搜索、跟踪华中局和新四军领导机关。代军长陈毅、政治委员刘少奇令第 1师在苏中发动攻势,配合盐阜地区反"扫荡"。第 1师攻克日伪军据点10余处,并围攻泰县、泰兴、姜堰等城镇,使敌顾此失彼,被动挨打。8月初,进犯苏北的日伪军被迫南撤,对苏中进行报复"扫荡"。第3师乘机收复阜宁、益林等地;第1师主力一部攻克盐城地区的裕华镇、秦南仓等据点,全歼日军2个小队,迫其从苏中撤兵回防。至 8月20日,反"扫荡"胜利结束,歼日伪军3800余人。这一胜利,巩固了苏北、苏中抗日根据地,增强了华中军民坚持斗争的信心。
