It is necessary to disc ussthe close relationship between modern painting and the foundation of painting while focusing on the much more novel and variant manifestation forms of the former.

After researching the teaching status of Color, a course of design major, and linking it with the development of today’s design arts, the author analysed several existing problems in the basic courses of painting and gave us some ideas on teaching innovation.
