Because of the liuyangeshi(a poem for singing, with six character to a lie) is not much in quantity ,and the total level of it is not reached the height of the wuyangeshi or qiyangeshi, so researchers have not pay attention to it.
六言歌诗因为作品数量不多,总体成就达不到五、七言歌诗的水平,长期以来较少受到学界关注。

全篇由六字句构成的诗体。相传始于西汉谷永。或据《文选》左思《咏史》诗李善注，认为东方朔已有"六言"。但其诗均不传。今所见六言诗以汉末孔融所作为早。唐以后人所作六言有古体与近体之分，大都偶然为之。明代胡震亨《唐音癸签》说："六言律诗，刘长卿集有之，及六言绝句，王维集有。"
