补充资料：和通泊之战
雍正九年(1731)清军与准噶尔军在和通泊地区进行的一次重大战役。因蒙古语称湖泊为淖尔，故此役又称和通淖尔之战。雍正八年秋，准噶尔部首领噶尔丹策零遣兵袭击清科舍图卡伦，清、准战争再次爆发。九年四月，清廷为了防范准军进入喀尔喀蒙古，令靖边大将军傅尔丹往科布多筑城，置守兴屯。六月，噶尔丹策零遣大小策零敦多布驻兵于额尔齐斯河上游，并派人至傅尔丹军前诈降，佯称：小策零敦多布率兵两万来攻，前军已至察罕哈达，兵仅一千；噶尔丹策零与其妹夫罗卜藏车凌不睦，令其率兵一万,驻防于阿里玛图沙喇伯勒,以防哈萨克；罗卜藏车凌拒不从命，率众奔噶斯，是以大策零敦多布未至。同时，噶尔丹暗地又派人到博克托岭设伏。傅尔丹不审虚实，贸然发兵一万，沿科布多河谷前进，企图先发制人。当参赞苏图率领前锋兵到达和通淖尔附近时，准军伏兵四出，将清军包围。傅尔丹急令后军增援，均为所败。副将军巴赛、查弼纳、前锋统领丁寿等皆奋战死，副都统塔尔岱负重伤。清军伤亡惨重，退回科布多时，仅剩两千人。这是清、准战争中清军损失最严重的一次战役。
