夏人居于河南说和河南偃师二里头为夏都斟寻阝说都缺乏可靠的文献依据 ,那些文献都是由于古代学者把《逸周书·度邑》中武王所说的“有夏”错误地理解成商以前的有夏后 ,逐步附会、演绎出来的 ,并非真实的古史记载 ;《度邑》中的“有夏”实乃周人的自称 ;河南伊、洛地区应是商人的活动区域 ,二里头应为先商时期某商王的都邑 ;夏都斟寻阝当以山东潍坊的斟城说为是 ;夏人的活动区域是在今山东省及其周边地区 ,考古学上的“龙山文化”、“岳石文化”和历史学上的“东夷文化”才是真正的夏文化。
