    通用级聚苯乙烯是由苯乙烯单体进行本体或悬浮聚合反应制得。结构式如图。平均分子量(20-30)万。无色透明颗粒,无臭、无味、无毒。具有良好的刚性、光泽性和耐化学性。折射率1. 59-1.60。热变形温度70-98 ℃,使用温度60-80 ℃,脆性温度一30℃。尺寸稳定性好,收缩率约为0.45%。吸湿性低,约为0.02%。溶于丙酮、甲乙酮、苯、甲苯、醛醛乙酯、氯仿、环己烷、二氧六环、吡啶、四氢呋喃、二硫化碳等有机溶剂。不溶于低级醇、乙醚、脂肪烃、某些矿物油、有机酸、碱、元机盐等。容易着色,电性能优良。脆性大,不耐冲击,容易燃烧。
    相对密度 1.04~1.09;冲击强度(kJ/m2) 16;弯曲强度>80MPa;马丁耐热>68℃。
    贮存于阴凉、通风的库房内,防火。
