Despite that,the Faith of Guanyu in the Zhangzhou area takes up a strong feature of terrestrial belief,which is not only reflected by the fact of his parallel worship with other gods in many temples and shrines,but also by the trends of proliferation and humanism in prac-tice.
关帝虽曾先后被道教、佛教纳入其神灵体系中作正神崇拜,但关帝信仰在漳州地区却体现出鲜明的民间信仰特征,不仅体现在很多庙宇的众神并祀上,而且其世俗化、人性化的倾向亦充分体现了民间信仰的草根性、民众性。

| 关帝 道教俗神。又称关公，关圣帝君。原为三国蜀汉刘备的武将。传说关羽死后，头葬河南洛阳，身葬湖北当阳，人感其德义，岁时奉祀。宋代流传关羽应龙虎山张天师之召降魔伏怪故事。宋崇宁元年(1102)追封忠惠公，后封义勇武安王。明初祀为关壮缪公，与岳飞同祀武庙，各地称关岳庙。万历三十三年(1605)封三界伏魔大帝神威远震天尊关圣帝君。清康熙五年(1666)敕封为忠义神武灵祐仁勇威显关圣大帝。相传农历五月十三日为神诞。
