龙虎山正一观位于仙水岩游览区的东南方。可从仙水岩乘船或乘车到蔡坊村，再过河约1公里及至。游览区有炼丹池、正一观、观音壁、薛家寨等众多景点。东汉初年第一代天师张道陵曾于此炼九天神丹，“丹成龙虎见”，后改云锦山为龙虎山。龙虎山为中国道教发源地。
