(Olympic Motto)
奥林匹克格言(OlymPie Motto)亦称奥林匹克口号。奥林匹克运动有一句著名的格言:“更快、更高、更强。”这一格言是顾拜旦的好友、巴黎阿奎埃尔修道院院长迪东(Henri Didon)在他的学生举行的一次户外运动会上，鼓励学生们时说过的一句话，他说:“在这里，你们的口号是:更快、更高、更强。”顾拜旦借用过来，将这句话用于奥林匹克运动。1920年国际奥委会将其正式确认为奥林匹克格言，在安特卫普奥运会上首次使用。此后，奥林匹克格言的拉丁文“eitius，组tius，Fortius”出现在国际奥委会的各种出版物上。奥林匹克格言充分表达了奥林匹克运动所倡导的不断进取、永不满足的奋斗精神。虽然只有短短的6个字，但其含义却非常丰富，它不仅表示在竞技运动中要不畏强手，敢于斗争，敢于胜利，而且鼓励人们在自己的生活和工作中不甘于平庸，要朝气蓬勃，永远进取，超越自我，将自己的潜能发挥到极限。
