新文体。指近代梁启超所创散文新体。梁氏《清代学术概论》自言所作文“学者竟效之,号‘新文体’”。其特点在于“纵笔所至不检束”,笔锋常带感情,热情洋溢,奔放豪纵,充满浪漫主义精神,极富鼓动性,善用正反对比,多方阐发,淋漓酣畅,论证有力,说服力极强,条理明晰,句法参差多变,常用排句及偶句,“务为平易畅达,时杂以俚语,韵语”,半文半白,明白易懂。代表作品有《少年中国说》,《变法通议》。上承王韬,冯桂芬以来进步散文传统,服务于改良运动,一时风靡全国,效仿者众,开五四白话文运动先河。
