不确定性避免(uneertainty av。idance)美国管理心理学家吉特·霍夫斯泰特提出的民族文化第二个维度，指对不确定性和模糊情景所产生的威胁的一种社会感受，并试图加以摆脱和避免的心态。避免不确定性的一般手段是提供较大的职业安全、建立正式的规则、限制偏离行为(详见“偏离行为”条)、信赖知识和依靠专家等。不同的民族文化所表现的不确定性避免有显著差异。强的不确定性避免，使组织成员必须时刻保持抗争的准备，具有情感上的高焦虑和应激状态、努力工作的冲动和强烈的一致性要求等心理特征:弱的不确定性避免，则表现为容易接受不确定性的到来，具有情绪平静、能接纳不同意见等心理特征。 (孙俊山撰张燮审)
