Carbon isotopic compositions of carbonate in phosphorite-bearing rocks in Weng’an Datang Section and Zhijing Gezhongwu Section in Guizhou, South China were studied to better understand the genesis of phosphorites and coeval palaeoceanic evolutions.

The major coal-bearing strata in Guizhou, South China, is composed of the late Permian Longtan and Changxing formations whose sedimentary environments and structural setting had been found out in previous researches.

On the basis of mass borehole data, the paper analyzed Middle Jurassic coal-bearing strata distributing features, coal-bearing property,coal-forming period in the Yining basin.

Based on the study and testing analysis on the texture characteristics of rock mass,the genesis of a kind of cone rock—root textite—developed in the coal bearing strata is discussed.

According to results of analysis on some cases from coal fields in the eastern China and simulation by deformation expeiments under high temperature and confining pressure,it is indicated that in coal bearing strata quartz C fabric is often of sparse small circle pattern and its axis is of obvious stress directing significance.
