补充资料:内丹与外丹
中国道教的修炼方术。外丹指用铅、汞等矿石药物在炉鼎中炼制成的丹药,谓服之可长生成仙,与内丹相对而言;内丹指将人体拟作炉鼎,以修炼体内精、气、神,谓可使凝结成丹。外丹术源于古代炼丹术,原称仙丹术或金丹术,后因内丹术亦袭用其名词,为使二者区别,乃称前者为外丹,后者为内丹。战国时神仙方士盛传海上三神山有长生不死之药,秦皇、汉武皆遣方士入海求之,不获。元光二年(前133),方士李少君对汉武帝说"丹沙可化为黄金",表明此时外丹术已流行。魏晋南北朝,由于炼丹道士的推动,外丹术获得较大发展。隋、唐时,外丹术随着道教的兴盛进入全盛时期。著名炼丹道士相继踵出,丹药品种大增,服丹成风。但因致死者甚众,故唐以后渐衰。内丹是由古代导引、行气、吐纳等术发展而来,东汉魏伯阳《周易参同契》和东晋葛洪《抱朴子》内篇对此均有所论述。北宋张伯端著《悟真篇》,使内丹理论和方法都更加丰富和发展。道教南北宗皆专主内丹,斥外丹为邪术,从此内丹逐渐成为道教主要方术。内、外丹是道教众多修炼方术中最重要的两种,影响甚大。以修炼内丹和外丹达到长生不死的目的,虽属幻想,却为中国古代化学、医学、养生学等积累了丰富资料,并从中提出物质形态和精、气、神相互转化的思想,对哲学思维的发展也有一定意义。
