又称"闪念"。电影中用短暂的形像画面表现人物精神活动、心理状态和情感起伏的一种艺术手法。它不同于倒叙和回忆。倒叙、回忆是影片的一种结构方式，即用倒叙的手法或通过对某一情节、细节的回忆，来交代事件、叙述故事。闪回,展现的时间比较短促,常常是几个镜头一闪而过。银幕上已经有过的镜头，观众早已知道的事情，在闪回中仍然可以反复出现。闪回的主要作用，在于表现人物一瞬间的思想感情和心理活动，用看得见的画面来表现人物看不见的内心变化和发展。但它必须与人物此时此刻的行为、感受、以及固有的思想、感情、性格相联系，并符合人物或情节的逻辑，具有它的特定性。闪回可以表现人物性格，窥视人物的心灵奥秘，较一般回忆，能更直接地揭示人物的内心世界。
