      德国社会学家、冲突理论的主要代表人物之一R.达伦多夫的主要著作。1957年出版。先后被翻译为英、法、西班牙、日、中等多种文字。作者系统地分析了当代工业社会中的社会冲突问题,建立了辩证冲突论的基本理论构架,认为任何社会组织都是强制性协调的联合体。社会组织内部的不同位置具有不同量的权威和权力。这种不平等的权威分布产生统治和被统治两种角色类型。居统治和被统治位置的行动者形成各自含有潜在共同利益的准群体。统治群体的利益在于维护现存秩序;被统治群体则不可避免地对自己的从属地位的合法性产生怀疑。在具备一定物质和技术手段、意识形态、领导等条件后,准群体成员获得共同的归属感,组成公开的利益群体,作为集体行动者投入公开的冲突。冲突的结果是社会组织内权力的再分配。当新的统治群体掌握权力之后,与之对立的新的被统治群体随之产生。统治者和被统治者角色重新制度化。一旦时机成熟,社会再度分裂为两个冲突群体,开始另一轮争夺权力的冲突。人类社会就是这样一种冲突与和谐的循环过程。在工业社会中,随着冲突的制度化和社会流动性的增大,个人有很多的机会实现个人利益,阶级冲突可能会化解为个人竞争。但是,个人竞争和集体行动"根本上是同一种巨大的社会力量,即'抵制'的同等表现",而"权力和抵制的辩证法乃是历史的推动力"。
