N.Nicolas Leblanc (1742～1806)法国化学家。1742年12月6日生于伊瓦勒普雷,1806年 1月16日卒于圣丹尼斯。曾在巴黎外科学校学习并取得医生资格。1780年曾做家庭外科医生。18世纪生产玻璃、陶瓷、肥皂和造纸需要大量价廉的较纯的碱。吕布兰1788年发明了第一个工业制纯碱(即碳酸钠)法──吕布兰制碱法，1791年取得专利。此法包括：用海盐与硫酸反应，生成硫酸钠、再与石灰石和煤一起煅烧而成纯碱。1791～1793年，建成了第一座工厂。这一发明很快得到了广泛应用。此法沿用了一个世纪左右，直到19世纪末才由索尔维法所取代。他的主要著作有《结晶技术》等。
