The Japanese Buddhism,as a kind of post-sectarian Buddhist thought,fails to do justice to the role played by the thought of Tathāgata-garbha and inner-Buddha(Original Enlightenment)in the formation of sectarian Buddhism in China,due to its inadequacy in historical understanding and textual interpretation.
日本批判佛教论,作为后宗派时代佛教思潮,由于缺乏历史与文本的双重解读,并未真正如实地评判如来藏—本觉思想在中国宗派佛教创建中(即“证义佛教”阶段)的地位与作用,特别是对唐代沙门法藏等人如来藏缘起论的阐释建构,没有足够的重视。

【本觉】
（术语）众生之心体，自性清净，离一切之妄相，照照灵灵，有觉知之德。是非修成而然，乃本有自尔之性德，故曰本觉。即如来之法身也。然此本心体，无始以来，覆于无明烦恼，隐藏至于今日，一旦依修治之功，始显其性德，是曰始觉，然觉而观之，则始觉非别，原为本觉之体，故始觉本觉，咸同一致。本觉之外无始觉。始觉即与本觉同一也。仁王经中曰：“自性清净名本觉性，即是诸佛一切智智。”起信论曰：“心体离念，离念相者等虚空界，无所不遍。法界一相，即是如来平等法身，依此法身，说名本觉。”
