Xiaojing script is an alphabetic system of writing, which is historically related to the writing systems used by international Muslims in China, particularly to that of Arabic language in the time of Tang and Song Dynasties and of Persian language in the time of Yuan and Ming Dynasties.
“小经”文字是一种阿拉伯字母体系拼音文字,它与穆斯林在华所使用的文字包括唐宋时期阿拉伯文、元明时期波斯文有密切的关联,这种关联为“小经”文字的出现造就了重要的语言文字背景,同时元末明初移入中原的穆斯林已本土化并学习和使用汉语,但未掌握汉文字,这也为该文字的出现创造了历史环境。

唐代《干禄字书》、《五经文字》、《九经字样》这三部字书(简称唐代“三书”)，是汉语文字学史上重要的三部字样书。

The objects of study are mainly the three works on "Zi Yang Xue" in Tang Dynasty--Gan Lu Zi Shu by Yan Yuansun, Wu Jing Wen Zi by Zhang Can and Xin Jia Jiu Jing Zi Yang by Tang Xuandu.
字样学是中国文字学重要的分支之一,唐代是字样学最为发达、成绩斐然的时期,狭义的字样学概念即指隋唐兴起的釐正楷书形体笔画的正讹而拟订用字标准的学术,本文研究对象亦以唐代三部字样学著作——颜元孙《干禄字书》、张参《五经文字》及唐玄度《新加九经字样》为主,在量化调查、字样学理及楷字发展理论探讨、中古楷字形体流变梳理及与《说文解字》(以下简称《说文》)、《篆隶万象名义》(以下简称《名义》)等字书的对比分析等方面,针对已有研究中的疏误和不足,以及研究空白,进行力所能及的探讨。
