Some people among contemporary scholars considered that Zhou Bangyan was a representative of the “New Clique”, because of being discriminated and abused by the members of “Old Clique”, they said, Zhou Bangyan went away to be a professor in Luzhou (庐州), then engaged in the administration of Lishui (溧水), “drifting about for a decade”.
由于旧党的排挤倾轧,邦彦始出教授庐州,接着又知溧水,“流落十年”。
