From the cognitive perspective,this article compares and analyses the metaphorical scope of hearing in English and Chinese in an attempt to verify the claims made by previous scholars on this issue and to revise some of their inaccurate conclusions.
研究结果表明:(1)英汉语听觉的隐喻投射支持Sweetser关于"以身喻心"这一上位概念隐喻具有跨语言性质的观点;(2)听觉域的隐喻范围要比Sweetser和Ibarretxe-antu ano所确立的范围宽;(3)听觉域不仅能投射到内在自我域,同时还能投射到外在自我域,反映出人类概念化过程的复杂性和多向性。
