艾黎捐赠文物陈列馆又名山丹县博物馆，坐落在甘肃山丹县城东南隅，占地面积1126平方米，呈四合院建筑形式，为砖混结构建筑。艾黎是新西兰人，也是中国人民的老朋友，他于四十年代在山丹创办了培黎学校，在山丹生活和从事教育工作近10年，为中国和甘肃的社会主义建设事业培养了大批有用人才，并与山丹人民结下了深厚的友谊，视山丹为第二故乡。他在中国五十多年期间，精心收集珍藏了3800多件中国历史文物，其中有不少是国家珍宝，艾黎将全部文物捐献给山丹人民。为了纪念这位国际友人的突出贡献和陈列捐赠的历史文物，甘肃省人民政府拨款49.3万元，修建了艾黎捐赠文物纪念馆，并分两期完成。第一期工程于1982年6月竣工开馆，第二期工程于1984年9月完工。艾黎捐赠文物陈列馆主要设有艾黎生平事迹展览室，捐赠历史文物陈列展室，常年对外开放，接待中外游客。
