| 白银市 位于中国甘肃省中部，黄河上游。又称铜城。辖靖远、景泰、会宁3县，面积2.12万平方千米，人口144.56万。汉族为主 ，另有回、满、藏、东乡等少数民族。原为矿区，因产白银而得名，又因铜矿储量和开采在全国地位显著，得“铜城”别名。1958年设市 ， 1963 年撤市改为兰州市白银区，1985年恢复白银市。矿产资源有铜、铅、锌、金、银等金属矿产及硫磺、煤炭、石膏、石灰石、芒硝、氟石等非金属矿产，其中煤炭保有储量在12亿吨以上，石膏储量 7000万吨，石灰石储量1 亿多吨。地下水资源丰富，黄河流经市区，水能资源充足，大峡水电站正在建设之中 。黑瓜籽、白兰瓜、发菜、滩羊皮为土特产品。已成为全国瞩目的有色金属生产基地，并形成了电力、煤炭、稀土、化工、纺织、加工、建材等比较全面的工业体系。农业在国民经济中占次要地位。有金鱼公园、铁木山等名胜。
