At present,the publicly owned and privately run juvenile amateur sports trainings are with high input,small training scope because of the different purposes of attending the training,it is hard to foster the reserve talents needed by the national competitive sports.
我国青少年业余训练国家办的(区、市体校等)投入大、训练规模小、效率低,社会(团体、个人)办的虽然规模大,但由于参与训练需求不同,很难培养出竞技体育所需的后备人才。

1973年11月21日于菲律宾马尼拉成立，总部设在新加坡，现有会员协会35个。亚洲田联的宗旨是发展业余田径运动和维护田径运动的业余性。亚洲田联的最高权力机构为代表大会，每两年举行 1次。代表大会选出理事会主持亚洲田联工作。理事会由主席、第1副主席、4名副主席、秘书长及5名理事组成，任期4年。现任主席是安田诚克(日本),秘书长是M.R.尼古拉斯(新加坡)。亚洲田联每两年举办 1次亚洲田径锦标赛。中国田径运动协会是亚洲业余田径联合会会员。
