性质:具有硼标明量以提供植物养分为其主要功效的物料。硼肥主要有硼酸和硼砂。硼是植物必需的营养元素之一。硼以硼酸分子(H3BO3)的形态被植物吸收利用,在植物体内不易移动。硼能促进根系生长,对光合作用的产物——碳水化合物的合成与转运有重要作用,对受精过程的正常进行有特殊作用。因此,对防治油菜“花而不实”、棉花“蕾而不花”和果树“落蕾、落花、落果”、小麦“不稔”等症均有明显能力。如果豆科作物缺硼,则根瘤发育不良,甚至失去固氮能力。油菜、棉花、大豆、甜菜、苹果、柑橘等施硼都有显著增产,并改善品质。中国缺硼土壤在南方和北方都有,所以合理施用硼肥对发展中国农业有重要意义。
