美国的通信与控制器件和系统的研究开发机构。创建于1925年，总部设在美国纽约市。为美国贝尔财团的西方电气公司和美国电报电话公司(AT&T)共同所有。开发出来的新产品归西方电气公司制造，供美国电报电话公司应用。它还通过与联邦政府签订合同的方式从事军事项目的开发研究工作。贝尔电话实验研究所自创建以来已获得几千项专利，其中包括1926年发明的声像同步影像系统,1937年发明的电气继电器式数字计算机,1947年发明的晶体管等。贝尔电话实验研究所的研究员J.巴丁、W.H.布拉顿和W.B.肖克利因发明晶体管获1956年诺贝尔物理学奖。
