From pragmatic prospect,this paper studies the interlocutions of two sides at Chinese courts,observes the connection and difference of interrogations and replies between two sides,discusses the strategies of question interruption and strategies of answer and reply,and finally,concludes pragmatic features of interlocution at Chinese courts.

In the verbal communication of reply,the speaker sometimes deliberately disobeys the principle and the norm of cooperation,and his reply doesn t show the information that the other party asks,however,his reply does convey some implication,and tactfully realizes the certain goal of communication.

The present study concentrates on pragmatic vagueness as a strategy in Chinese courtroom response.
