K.科夫卡著。纽约哈考特-布雷斯-约万诺维奇公司1935年出版。本书1937年出版过傅统先的中译本。科夫卡主张"心理学是意识的科学,心的科学,行为的科学"。心理学既研究直接经验,又研究行为,行为是出发点。他把物理学的概念引入心理学，提出"物理场"和"心理场"等概念，并普遍应用于生理过程、行为过程和意识过程。他论述了"同形论"，即认为生理过程与心理过程在结构形式方面完全等同，生理过程是"意识的相关物"，用"场"解释神经系统的组织作用，用"场组织作用"和整体性概念解释经验、知觉、感觉对比、错觉、记忆、遗忘及其他心理过程。认为"完形趋向律"(即只要主要条件允许,心理的组织作用总是力趋于完善)是一条总的原则，尝试错误在学习中不起作用，只有顿悟才是学习的本质。客观观察法和经验内省法都是心理学的基本方法。本书是格式塔学派心理学家把自己的学说加以系统化的一部著作，概括了作者的格式塔理论的要点。
