乳茄,茄科半木质植物，又叫五代同堂果，乳头茄。为一年生灌木，高1米左右，花紫色、呈五星状，茄果如鼠标大小，并在果体上长出五个乳头状的突起，成熟果实呈金黄色，其表面光滑如塑，成为一种天然的工艺品。摆放在茶几案头可观赏数月之久。除观赏外还可药用，具有消炎镇痛、散瘀、消肿的功效。主治心胃气痛、淋巴结核、腋窝生疮等。一般在春季播种，秋季收果。
乳茄原产南美洲，现已广布于东南亚，因有奇异形状的果而种植。本澳路环石排湾郊野公园之趣异植物园可见，其桨果倒梨形，光滑，黄色或橙黄色，成胀大的球果，基部具3～5个乳头状突起，又名五指茄，人们以示吉祥，故称“五代同堂茄”。
