【J.凯恩斯投资决定储蓄论】长期以来，古典学派认为在任何时候可以用作投资的储蓄额是一定的，是储蓄决定投资。然而，凯恩斯在1936年出版的《通论》一书中却认为:投资与储蓄是两种完全不同的人根据不同的动机进行的行为，两者彼此分离，毫无内在的因果关系。投资只取决于资本的边际效率和利息率、不受居民储蓄的支配。国家可以通过赤字财政来扩大投资，增加就业。因而是投资决定储蓄而不是储蓄决定投资。 凯恩斯处于30年代大萧条时代，为了刺激需求，增加就业，他依据如下三个原理提出了投资决定储蓄的理论。(l)个人消费储蓄心理法则。在凯恩斯看来，储蓄倾向随收人的不断提高而提高，会形成一边是社会产品随收人的提高而不断增加，另一边却是被用于消费的产品随社会产品数量的增加而不断减少，这二者之间的间隙越来越大。若不用投资来弥补这个空隙，则有效需求的严重不足会导致经济危机。(2)投资乘数是指收入和就业与投资之间的比例关系。投资乘数大小决定着投资效果的好坏。凯恩斯认为边际消费倾向愈大、投资乘数就越大，新增一定量的投资便能产生若干倍的就业和收人。据此，凯恩斯竭力反对传统的储蓄作用理论。
