文学史料、工具书。孙楷第著。孙楷第生于1899年,现为中国社会科学院文学研究所研究员。此书著录自宋至清末已佚和今存的小说书目800余种,以白话小说为主。凡今存作品,作者均注明版本、藏所,书名后大抵附以有关笔记史料的摘录,著者不求详繁而求切要。间有题记按语,考校内容掌故,也力求精当。此书初版于1932年,1957年作家出版社印行重订本,前附著者《重订通俗小说书目序》。对书目有所增补,惟分类名称(如明清小说分烟粉、灵怪等)一仍其旧。著者态度谨严,著录书目必经目验,对版本也非遇本即录。为有价值的参考书。
