Toxicity experiments, mutation experiments and 30-day feeding tests were conducted on rats with transgenic rice bearing mtlD/gutD gene.

Two transgenic rice pure lines, generated by particle bombardment, were challenged by the first-instar nymphs of rice brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens,BPH) biotype I using the standard BPH bioassay and feeding test protocol essentially the same as described by Rao et al.

[Methods]Acute toxicity test,marrow micronucleus test on mice,Ames test,sperm malformation test and 30 days feeding test were carried out for the detection.
