【产险代理的组织形式】由于产险自身的特点，以及公司型代理的自身优势，使得各国在产险代理的模式选择上大多采取以公司型代理为主。这是因为: 1.产险涉及范围广，技术复杂，而公司代理则具有这方面优势。产险业务由于其涉及范围广及技术复杂等原因，使保险公司一般很难面面俱到，掌握各方面的专业知识。而个人代理人也由于能力有限，不可能了解所有的专业技术。而保险代理公司由于在设立时，就根据自身的特长选定了自身的代理范围，在某一方面具有较强的专业技术优势，与于易被保险人沟通，从而能为被保险人提供较高的保险服务。 2.产险承保业务一般保额较大，赔款较多，以致使个人代理人无力代办承保。由于产险保险期限大多以一年为主，具有短期性的特点，在保险期限内，若保险事件一旦发生，特别是巨灾分险的发生，则急需巨额赔付，以补偿损失。如1987年大兴安岭火灾赔付1 .2亿元;1990年广州白云机场机损事件赔付7500万美元;1991年支付江淮大水赔款23亿元;1994年“东方红三号”卫星发射失败赔付4亿元等。所有这些都是个人代理人所无力承担的。而代理公司则因为其特有的组织形式和最低注册资本金作保证以及特有的专业技术基础等优势，使其在信誉与能力上都强于个人代理人。即使从投保人角度来看，投保人也更愿选择代理公司而非个人代理人。 3.产险市场相对集中，采用公司代理则能集中展业。由于产险市场分布比较集中，这就为直接展业带来了方便，代理人不需花大量的费用就可寻找到保源。即使一些财产标的分布较分散的险种同样可以通过特定的方式集中开展业务。例如货物运输保险可以通过货运站集中代办业务，机动车辆保险可以通过车辆监督管理部门代办业务。这样采用公司代理就可直接承保大量的业务，从而产生规模效应，节省了单对单展业导致的多耗费用。而产险不宜采取个人代理的原因，是因为个人代理得以发展的一个前提就是要有一个潜力巨大的分散性市场。寿险展业就是以每个人、每个家庭作为营销目标的分散性市场，只有通过大规模的个人营销，才能将零星分散的保户集中起来，获得足够的市场份额。因此，产险市场的集中性，决定了其更适合采用公司代理。
