| 冬季运动 winter sports 在天然或人工冰雪场地借助各种装具进行的体育运动。冬季运动项目通常分为冰上运动和滑雪运动两大类。冰上运动包括速度滑冰、花样滑冰、冰球运动。速度滑冰又分为标准场地滑冰和短跑道滑冰。花样滑冰分单人、双人和冰上舞蹈。滑雪运动包括越野滑雪、高山滑雪、跳台滑雪、现代冬季两项、北欧两项、多项滑雪、军事滑雪、雪橇运动、花样滑雪、雪犁等。由于冬季运动项目的国际比赛日益增多，在1920年第七届奥运会后，国际奥林匹克委员会决定为冬季运动项目单独举行冬季奥林匹克运动会。1924～1992年，举行了16届。 |
