月牙湾又称半月湾，坐落于北长山岛最北端，依长约2000米的月牙长滩而建，宛如一勾巨大的新月。园中的主要建筑为一座高20余米的中西结合式的“月牙亭”、矗立在峭壁之上的“观澜亭”和长约千米的长廊。长廊前，还有一处用石球装饰铺筑的百米“石毯”，行之其上有“步踏珍珠”之感。最有情致的是月牙湾的球石，可以说是一个珠光宝气的球石世界，洁白的如美玉，晶莹的赛琥珀，无论你在什么地方捧起，都会一颗也舍不得丢下。党和国家领导人多次来到月牙湾，都亲自为月牙湾题字留诗。1979年，叶剑英来长岛为月牙湾题词是：“内长山岛月儿湾，勤车渔农并石田，昂价球石生异彩，妇孺岂情指头艰”；1964年董必武为月牙湾的题词是：“游长山岛，心胸甚豁然”，凡游过长山岛的人都会与董老有同样的感受。为适应日益发展的旅游事业，长岛县委和县政府决定修建月牙湾公园，第一期工程是新建长廊、接待室、沐浴室和更衣室，现都已完工；第二期工程将要建一个国家标准的游泳池，修建园林设施，配备游。
