某些国家军队佩带的一种形似船只的软体制式军帽，俄军曾称其为折叠式软帽。美国陆军的船形帽在两侧面的上檐附有镶边，将官镶金丝线或金色合成金属丝，其他军官镶夹有黑色人造丝或合成金属丝，准尉镶夹有黑色人造丝的银线或银色合成金属丝。苏联红军1935年开始戴用该帽，陆军只在士兵、军士、军校学员和军事建筑人员中戴用，海军除上述人员外，军官亦可戴用。中国人民解放军 50年代实行军衔制期间，船形帽为军士和士兵的夏季制式军帽。船形帽戴在头上可略向右偏，但其有侧底缘不得触及耳尖。戴好后，从侧面看时其前、后垂直折线与帽顶线应形成一条不间断的折线。帽顶不得受压或变形，使帽子的前顶端和后顶端保持尖顶状。按当时中国人的审美观，认为船形帽看起来不太美观，50年代人民解放军许多士兵对戴这种军帽很不习惯。但它打起仗来很方便，利于戴钢盔，不易被勾挂，既可当帽子戴，又能当毛巾擦汗洗尘。因此，至今仍有许多国家的军队采用。
