植物形态：落叶灌木，高可达1米，有匍匐茎蔓延于沙土中，枝四方形，全体密生灰白色细绒毛。叶对生，倒卵形，长2~3.5厘米，宽1~2.2厘米，基部楔形，先端圆形，表面绿色，密生短细毛，背面灰白色，密生细绒毛，叶柄长约5毫米，密生细绒毛，上面有槽。花淡蓝紫色，顶生圆锥花序，萼钟形，上端有5齿，花冠唇形，5裂，雄蕊4枚，子房上位，2心皮，4室。核果球形，包有宿萼。 生态分布：产我国沿海各省及江西、云南等地。 药用部分：茎、叶及种子入药，夏秋采收。 用途：性味辛、苦、寒。能疏风散热，为清凉性镇痛镇静药。用于神经性头痛，目痛，齿痛；又用于感冒发热及慢病发热。用量：果实1.5~3钱。
