Besides criticism on rhetorical skills,rhetoric criticism has been extended in the following two ways,one is rhetoric poetics,and another is rhetoric philosophy.

With some typical examples,this paper analyses originally three artistic features of poeticization embodied in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,namely poetic musicalness,poetic rhetoricalness and poetic symbolicaless so as to demonstrate the novel s artistic effect and beauty.
