原始森林保健度假区，位于金秀县城东北面10公里金秀老山的山谷中，东南面是60多万亩的原始森林，北面毗邻世界银杉“王”——银杉公署 国家级自然保护区，国家森林公园的重要组成部分。景区内四周群山环抱，树木葱茏；启蒙地奇花异昌，飞禽走兽不时映入眼帘，世界植物活化石“银杉”和世界动物活化石“瑶山鳄晰”就生长在此区。该区林中溪流密布、泉水潺潺，四委清风飞飞，春意常在，没有任何大气污染和公害，是广西最大的植物基因库和天然动物园，空气负离子含量13970个/cm，水质优于国家《地表水环境质量标准》的一级标准。原始森林保健度假区树立的主题形象为：原始古林、自然之美、生物乐园、科普之家。是不可多得的回归大自然形象为：原始古林、自然之美、生物乐园、科普之家。是不可多得的回归大自然，旅游、度假、避暑、保健、疗养、科研的理想处所。 目前，原始森林保健度假区已建有豪华木质阁楼客房48间、床位100张，有停车场1000平方米，餐厅、购物、药浴保健室一应俱应。可接待100—150人吃、宿。该景区还设有瑶山瑶族民谷风情和瑶族绝技表演以及组织烧烤、篝米晚会等丰富多彩的活动。
