| 《六个寻找作者的剧中人》 Six Characters in Search of an Author 意大利3幕喜剧。L.皮兰德娄的代表作。1921年首演。是一部戏中套戏、结构奇特的作品。剧情是：某剧团的导演与演员正在排练皮兰德娄的剧本《各尽其职》，6个自称是被作者废弃的剧中人闯进排练场，要求赋予他们舞台生命。他们不由分说追述自己的经历，于是戏中戏开始。他们的故事渐渐吸引了在场者，导演决定就排他们这个戏。但演员们在排演中不时与“剧中人”发生矛盾，最后戏中戏与框架融为一体，变为真戏演了起来，剧情变成：丈夫逼妻子与人私奔，以为是成人之美，却不料造成家庭悲剧；母亲疼爱所有的孩子，但大女儿沦落风尘，大儿子冷漠无情，小女儿溺水身亡，小儿子饮弹自尽。这部剧把两个主题有机地套在一起，以舞台上的虚实不分、真假难辨揭示现实生活中人格变化不定、人际关系无法确定的状况。这部悲喜交集、幻想与现实融合的作品，所表现的也是作家的创作过程。虚构而成的人物一旦出现，就有了独立意志，不再为作者所左右。
