| 新批评派 New Criticism 20世纪10～20年代起源于英国 ，30 ～50 年代扩展到美国的一个文学批评派别。提倡细读式的文本分析，以别于着重探讨作家思想、背景以及作品思想、历史、社会政治意义的传统批评。英国美学家和诗人休姆（1883～1917 )的《古典主义与浪漫主义》一文，被视为新批评派的先声。英国诗人T.S.艾略特和英国语言学家I.A.瑞恰兹( 1893～1979 )是该派理论的奠基者，前者的代表作有《传统与个人才能 》、《玄学派诗人》；后者有《文学批评原理》、《实用批评 》、《修辞哲学》等。他们在英国的重要后继者有燕卜荪(1906～1984），著有《复义七型》等。美国诗人、大学文学教师兰色姆（1888～1974） 从30 年代以后发表了一系列论文 ，丰富发展了此派理论和方法。他的《新批评》一书，为此派确定了名称。他和他的学生形成美国的新批评派，称“南方集团”。其中的布鲁克斯所著《精制的瓮》和他与沃伦合著的《怎样读诗》都有广泛影响。第二次世界大战后，新批评派在美国兴盛一时，至50年代末才渐趋衰落，其间，有雷奈·韦勒克与奥斯丁·沃伦合著的《文学理论》、维姆萨特与克鲁克斯合著的《文学批评简史》等著作陆续出版。 |
