性质:光合作用中色素分子被光激发,引起的光物理和光化学反应过程。包括光合色素最初对光的吸收、光能在色素分子间的传递,以及反应中心色素-特殊状态的叶绿素a(参见光合色素)被光激发引起电荷分离。当激发态叶绿素分子将一个电子传递给原初反应受体后,又可从别的原初电子供体获得电子而恢复到原来的状态。该反应极快,10-15~10-10s内即可完成。
